FAQs

Tracks vs Fixed-Point

The main difference between a Track and a Fixed-Point application lies in crossbar adjustability. A Track system allows for variable crossbar spread, making it adaptable for both shorter and longer loads. In contrast, a Fixed-Point system offers no adjustability once installed.

Tracks

A Track installation involves permanently mounting tracks along the length of your vehicle's roof, truck cab, or RV. These tracks allow the roof rack to slide forward or backward, offering flexibility to adjust the crossbar spread based on the size of your gear. Tracks can be custom-cut to fit different roof lengths and are suitable for installation on both metal and fiberglass roofs.

Fixed-Point

A Fixed-Point installation uses permanently installed landing pads on your vehicle's roof, truck cab, or RV. The roof rack attaches directly to these fixed points, meaning the crossbar spread cannot be adjusted once installed. Various types of landing pads are available for installation on metal and fiberglass roofs, as well as in roof ditches.

Tracks vs HD Tracks

HD Tracks are designed to support higher weight limits and are ideal for off-road use. They work well for both rooftop and tonneau cover applications and are compatible with the BedTrack Kit 2 for OverHaul HD and OutPost HD installations. However, HD Tracks are not recommended for metal roofs or surfaces with a curve.

Landing Pad 1 vs Landing Pad 26

Landing Pad 1 is our go-to track landing pad for general use, while Landing Pad 26 provides additional support for higher weight capacities, making it ideal for use with HD Tracks and RigCage setups. It's perfect for heavy-duty and off-road applications.
